PC-controlled Photo Studios
Now there is a cheaper way to achieve better quality website photography. Using the Photo Box Studio you can produce shadow free images in seconds.
Whichever box you choose you put the item in the box, then use your PC to control the camera. Instead of pressing buttons on the camera you use the software to frame the image and snap. The image appears on your PC automatically without the need to transfer images as a separate process. The superior photo quality you will achieve is a product of the powerful combination of controlled lighting, software and camera working together.
How the Photo Studio in-a-box works
The controlled lighting environment inside the box yields shadow free images that are perfect for website photography, product catalogues, presentations or internal approval systems.
To photograph an image you put it inside the box. The live preview feature allows you to see your shot on the PC. Using the zoom in, zoom out and crop buttons in the software you construct the shot you want to take. There is no need to touch the camera as it is a slave of the PC and software. Simply press click and the camera will deliver the shot to your PC.
There are three positions for the camera. For a top shot the camera is fixed in the box (like in the pictures to the left), whilst for a side shot the box door stays open and the camera sits outside the box on the tripod that is provided.
Pictures are automatically sent from camera to PC via USB for viewing, editing, printing or annotation. Once you've taken a picture, you can e-mail it directly from the software or save it to disk in the digital photography studio format, as a JPEG, or a TIFF.
The software allows you to draw or write on the image. This useful feature allows clear and colour accurate communication with suppliers, colleagues and customers.
For subjects that won't fit in the box use advanced mode - the camera remains connected to the PC via the box but can be pointed in to the room.
